CLEP Tests
CLEP Information
Students who wish to gain credit for courses through testing have the option of taking the CLEP Exam. The CLEP Exam is a test given on the computer that tests your skills on the coursework for which you would like to gain credit. If you would like to schedule an exam, please call 605-367-5989 or email testingcenter@sduniversitycenter.org
The exam is given in UCS Room 280 (Resource Center) at University Center. The fees include a $15 registration fee (payable to USD) and a $72 CLEP fee (payable to CLEP).
We offer CLEP exams by appointment Tuesday-Saturday between 9 AM and 2 PM (the latest you may start a CLEP exam).
We are an Open CLEP Testing Center, which means we will test anyone who properly registers, including military personnel. We do currently do not offer any CLEP exams that require an essay, nor do we offer DANTES exams. We currently have CLEP study guides available for in-room use in Room 280.
Please be advised that if you have previously failed a course (receiving a D or F), you may not take the CLEP exam to earn credit for that course. If you have any questions, please speak with your advisor.
