The relatively small staff at University Center work in partnership with corresponding offices on the main campus to help students gain access to main campus services when needed. In addition to our regular support staff, University Center houses faculty and staff for the SDSU nursing and pharmacy programs. University Center is also home to several full-time faculty who teach almost exclusively at University Center.

University Center in Sioux Falls is seeking a people‐oriented, self‐motivated individual as an Academic Advisor. We are seeking applicants with strong interpersonal skills who are organized, detail-oriented and can work independently and cooperatively as a team member.
Bachelor's degree and related experience in higher education required. Master's degree and student services experience preferred. Primary responsibilities: provide first‐year students with academic support services; assist students to determine academic goals; develop and conduct orientation programs; monitor student progress; maintain records in accordance with policy. Salary commensurate with qualifications.
Modern office equipment and practices.
Business English to include grammar, spelling and punctuation. Word processing, database and spreadsheet software.
Interpret policy and make sound decisions.
Work with people from a broad range of diverse backgrounds.
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Exercise tact, patience, and discretion to communicate respectfully and effectively with internal and external customers, both orally and in writing.
Work in a fast paced, dynamic team-based environment.

Part-time Academic Tutors $10.00 per hour
University Center’s Student Success Center is seeking to hire Academic Tutors with specialty areas including English, Science, and Math to provide extra instruction and support to University Center students. Tutors at University Center are an essential partner in helping students to succeed and develop study skills. Tutoring would take place on the University Center Sioux Falls campus.
Applicants must have good communication and organizational skills, knowledge of the content area and be capable of effectively assisting students in the assigned subject. Applicants must be willing to work flexible hours.
